In the service of community & country
A non-political, registered Trust working to protect and propagate the socio-cultural, religious and educational heritage of our community, and to connect our children and youth to the proud inheritance of Kashmir.
Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, Anand Nagar Bohri, Jammu, is a non-political Trust registered with the Registrar, Jammu City (Reg. No. 00339820, dated 25-09-1997), and registered with the Income-Tax Department under 12A with exemption under section 80G. It was conceptualised by a selfless group of social activists to provide moral, social and cultural succour to the community, and to protect our socio-cultural and educational heritage at a time when our centuries-old traditions stood under threat of being eroded.
The aim of the Trust is to provide a congenial platform to our community to propagate the cultural and religious values that are our proud inheritance, while connecting actively with community children and youth, making them aware of our past glory, the sacrifices of Kashmiri icons, the advent of sages and spiritualists, and the contribution of educationists.
Kashmiri Pandits have always been Shakti Upasaks, holding Matri Shakti in reverence; in deference to that, the Kendra also works to empower the women of the community. Over the years SSK has rendered yeoman's service, protecting and propagating social and cultural values, providing medical-related services, establishing a library, collating the data of the community holocaust, and reaching out to youth in schools and colleges.
